When a camera was passing by

I have no idea what streetphotography is nowadays. We live in the Middle Ages of specialization and people are monkeys trained in cages by definitions, which deny the mind the opportunity to go beyond. They are against "feeling". And too many definitions of Street Photography have already been given. As many as there have been cameras that have gone around the world. Therefore I decided to give the title "street" to this section exclusively for the universal recognition of the word, rather than for my adherence to any current. That would humiliate me. The most I can recognise, in what I do, is my natural lack of inclination towards the set. I have always found it more appropriate to witness what happens spontaneously. Society is already a natural set in itself. And Western culture, where I grew up, is at the root of the planet's horrors, its generative source, you don't have to look too far to find stories to tell. Planning anything other than dedicating my life to observation. makes me feel like I'm wasting my time. In this sense, Streetphotography is a wonderful routine activity that serves to create the opportunity to make anything emerge, retrospectively, without having any reason to look for the meaning in what I do. Because what the photos have to say, even if I ever understand it, they reveal at their discretion. At the times they choose. At most I can understand something about myself. But in a while...

Non ho idea di cosa sia, al giorno di oggi la streetphotography. Viviamo nel medio evo della specializzazione e le persone sono scimmie addestrate nelle gabbie delle definizioni, che negano l'opportunità alla mente di andare oltre. Sono contrarie al "sentire". E di definizioni di Street Photography ne sono già state date troppe. Tante quante sono state le fotocamere che sono andate in giro per il mondo. Pertanto ho ritenuto dare titolo "street" a questa sezione esclusivamente per la universale riconoscibilità del vocabolo, più che per la mia aderenza ad una qualsivoglia corrente. Che mi umilierebbe. Il massimo che posso riconoscere, in quello che faccio, è la mia naturale mancanza di propensione verso il set. Ho sempre trovato più consono il testimoniare ciò che accade spontaneamente. La società è già un set naturale di per se. E la cultura occidentale, dove sono cresciuto, è alla radice degli orrori del pianeta, la sua sorgente generativa, non devo andare troppo lontano per trovare storie da raccontare. Pianificare qualcosa di diverso dal dedicare la mia vita all'osservazione, mi da la sensazione di perdere tempo. In questo senso, la Streetphotography è una meravigliosa attività di routine che serve a crerare l'opportunità di far affiorare qualunque cosa, a posteriori, senza avere il bisogno di cercare significato alcuno in ciò che faccio. Perchè quel che le foto hanno da dire, se anche dovessi mai capirlo, lo rivelano a loro discrezione. Nei tempi che scelgono loro. Al massimo io posso comprendere qualcosa di me stesso.
